I love music and my songs go everywhere with me. Certain songs go with the whole travel vibe or incite inspirational feelings within.
Here is my list of top 10 favorite songs to hear while traveling:
1) Photograph – Ed Sheeran
Though this one is mainly a love song, it goes with the whole theme of creating memories. After all, you will look at your travel photographs years later and become a part of the memories you created.
2) Spirit Bird – Xavier Rudd
This song is SO beautiful. Xavier Rudd is an Australian singer and based this song on the Aborigines. Spirit bird is perfect when you are in natural surroundings.
3) Ocean – John Butler Trio
This is a longish instrumental song. But it triggers emotions that you did not know even exist. If you have nerves during take-off or landing, this is the best song to listen to.
4) Somewhere Only We Know – Keane
This song is has a very enchanting theme. It transports you into a forest or somewhere mystical. Highly recommend it.
5) Scar Tissue – Red Hot Chili Peppers
The best road trip song around. Also Around The Universe by RHCP. Great songs to listen to while on a trip.
6) Who Says – John Mayer
For me, this song is not about caring and breaking stereotypes. That’s exactly what you want to do while traveling. Get out of your comfort zone and have fun!
7) Drive – Incubus
Another amazing number about taking control of your life. Very apt for road trips too since it’s about taking the wheel.
8) Shake it Off – Taylor Swift
This one also goes with the whole theme of just being yourself and that’s what you want to be during your journeys abroad. The only baggage you need to take is your clothes. Leave all the other unnecessary emotions behind.
9) Life is a Highway – Rascal Flatts
I guess you already know why I have mentioned this one. Give it a listen!
10) Unwritten – Natasha Bedingfield
Another song about motivation and inspiration. You are the master of your own fate. Including your own journeys and travels.
