Pa-Pa-Papa-Pa-Pa
Don’t lie. You totally sang the GoT theme song in your head.
Well, I am a HUGE fan of Song of Ice and Fire books, and I have had a crazy phase of reading every theory possible after putting down the fifth book.
Since the show is starting again, I thought…why not refresh my memory and those of GoT fans?
Here are my top GoT theories based on the books.
1) R + L = J
Who HASN’T heard of this one yet? Rheagar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were in love, eloped and had Jon Snow. In the Tower of Joy (which they so conveniently left out in the show), Ned Stark meets Lyanna Stark (where Rheagar Targaryen kept her), who was lying on a bed in a pool of blood and she asked him to promise her something. What could that promise be? Well, it was to keep Jon Snow safe of course. The pool of blood was because of childbirth. You see Ned Stark was honourable to a fault, and he would never dishonour his name by fathering a bastard. He kept Jon’s identity hidden so that Robert Baratheon wouldn’t kill him. I can’t wait until they reveal this one as it’s pretty much canon.
2) Jamie will kill Cersei
Cersei: Will the king and I have children?
Maggy: Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.
This was prophesized by Maggy, the frog when Cersei met her as a child. The Valonqar is High Valyrian for little brother. Now Cersei herself thought that it meant Tyrion. But I don’t think it is. I think it’s Jamie. Although they are twins, Jamie was born after Cersei. And the way things are going for them in the books…I think it would be so awesome and poetic if he kills her.
3) Brandon Stark will ride the ice dragon
I think Brandon is going down a sad, sad route. Last we saw he has already met the three-eyed raven. There have been several references to an ice dragon in the books. I think the ice dragon will come out of the wall of the night’s watch. And I think Brandon Stark will be manipulated to fight against Westeros while using the Ice Dragon.
4) Tyrion, Jon and Daenerys are three dragon riders
Since Daenerys and Jon are Targaryens (assuming R + L = J is true) and Tyrion is so awesome and has so much knowledge about dragons, these three will be the final dragon riders. My prediction is that Daenerys or Jon will be on the final throne, and Tyrion will be the hand.
5) The White Walkers are the good guys
Yup. Even though they kill everyone and convert them into zombies, there has to be some reason. And I think the reason is going to a noble one. This article pretty much explains what I am trying to say.
So there you have it. These are my favorite theories. I guess we will just have to see what happens yes?
